About the Purple Pen in Japan
This blog started because I can't tell anyone how stinky my Japanese co-worker was.
(I deleted that post because it might jeopardize my work.)
(I deleted that post because it might jeopardize my work.)
I continued writing because some people actually read about my stinky co-worker, my rude coworker and all other work-related rants. (I deleted them too when more people started reading. I don't want to lose my job, yet.)
So after deleting all those ranting posts, I just wrote about life in Japan, life in Hamamatsu, cultural observations and working in Japanese schools. I found out these are more helpful and less self-destructive.
This is like My Diary in Japan.
But I try to give as much information as I can about Japan and Hamamatsu.
I love purple + I love to write + I'm in Japan = Purple Pen in Japan
I hope I'll have Purple Pen in <insert another country> soon.
And my name is Faye.
I'm the one who writes most of the things on Purple Pen.
Things About Me:
I'm an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan since 2012.
Before that, I used to teach in an international school and in the university. I was a reading specialist, too.
I'm also teaching Business English in well-known Japanese companies.
I live in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Quick Geography Lesson: Hamamatsu is the windiest city in the world. It's in the east of Japan. It's the birthplace of Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawaii. Shizuoka is in the central part of Japan. It's where Mt. Fuji is located.
I love to cycle, do yoga and hike.
I've climbed Mt. Fuji... while a typhoon is raging! (I thought I'll die from hypothermia.)
I experienced skiing for the first time in Japan. I like the sight of snow. But skiing itself... not really.
Just this year, I've finished all the places I wanted to visit in Japan.
I can understand and speak a teenie-weenie bit Japanese. That's a little better than being totally illiterate. But I still feel illiterate everyday, anyway. But it's okay. Ignorance is bliss.
I tried attending Japanese classes on Saturday evenings but my friends got in the way.
I grew up watching Japanese anime dubbed in Filipino. I hate that Slam Dunk's TV version was unfinished.
My greatest love in the world-----> COFFEE!
I developed a romance with cooking in Japan because I got tired from eating Japanese food. I really really love Italian food.
I like to observe people. I'm fascinated with culture, human behavior and world politics.
I enjoy karaoke A LOT but I'm not a good singer. I like P!nk and Maroon 5 and the Script.
My greatest dream is to travel the world for 2 to 3 years straight. I don't know how to do it yet. I'm still figuring it out just like how I'm still figuring out my life.
My next greatest dream is to write a novel. Still figuring this out too!
I hope I'm changing how the world views Filipinos. For the better.
Most of my friends wouldn't believe me but I'm actually an introvert. I love being alone.... most of the time.

I have a new goal this year: To laugh from the heart everyday.
I'm a frustrated journalist and rock singer.
I seriously need a job by April 2016.
