Far from what its name means, Garage Bakery and Cafe is a cozy place to hang out. It's spacious with several tables outdoors and stuffed couches indoors. The general feel is vintagey but the design is eclectic, interestingly.
On the outside, it looks like a French cafe. Then a teeppee can be seen on one corner. The airconditioned area is all the more random. There are a couple of couches, a few reclining chairs, tables used for table tennis and a long elegant wooden table with stylish chairs. The small garden in front of the toilet looks like an English garden. It's just comfortable randomness.
As you can see in the name, it's Bakery AND Cafe. It's amusingly accurate. Coffee and other beverages are ordered on the left side. Bread are in a separate building directly on the right.
The cafe has a few types of coffee- mocca and caramel and the usual cappucino. Tea, milk and lemonade are also available. Their drinks are really not exceptional but affordable compared to other Japanese cafes.
The bakery offers freshly-baked bread. My top three favorites are- the one with cheese cream, the chocolate-stuffed one and French toast. To have more choices, you should go early. They have few breads choices in the afternoon.
This place also has a carpeted kids area with some toys and small table.
This place is great for small ladies parties and small business meetings. It's perfect for a chillax afternoon.
How To Get There:
Best way to get there is by bicycle. From Hamamatsu Station, Google says it's 25 minutes on foot. Using a car is okay but parking may be a problem in peak hours.
